Tip 41: Turn Your Website Into a Bucket of Bait!
No, I haven't gone crazy; I'm actually quite serious. I want you to
turn your website into a big bucket of bait; more specifically, I want
you to turn it into "link bait".
Basically, you're going to want your entire website to be link bait, or
at least a large portion of it. That way, you can generate tons of web
site traffic without even lifting a finger. Confused yet? Okay then,
let me back up and actually tell you what link bait is.
As Defined By Wikipedia, Link Bait is:
"Any content or feature within a website that somehow baits viewers to place links to it from other websites."
So if you have interesting content on your website and people link to
it of their own free will, that's link bait. Simple, right? With that
being said, you're going to want to make your site as interesting as
possible. Providing information is great, but if it's boring and
regurgitated words that have been used over and over, no one is going
to link back to it. Be Original and Make your Content Stand Out from
the crowd!
Use Some of These Hooks to Turn your Site Into a Big Pile of Link Bait:
-----------------------------------
Informational Hooks - Provide information that a reader may find very
useful. Some rare tips and tricks or any personal experience through
which readers can benefit.
News Hooks - Provide fresh information and garner citations and links as the news spreads.
Humor Hooks - Tell a funny story or a joke. A bizarre picture of your
subject or mocking cartoons can also prove to be a link bait.
Evil Hooks - Saying something unpopular or mean may also yield a lot of
attention. Writing about something that is not appealing about a
product or a popular blogger. Provide strong reasons for it.
Tool Hooks - Create some sort of tool that is useful enough that people link to it.

Tip 42: Optimize Your Linking Structure For Better Page Rank!
Like most people, your going to want your links to increase your search
engine ranking, not decrease it. However, every page on your website
does not have to have a high rank for you to pull in more web site
traffic. It's always nice when they have a high page rank, but it just
isn't practical to try and get every one of them as high as possible.
Instead, you should direct your focus toward the most important pages
of your website.
Optimize your webpage links so that they mainly point to your most
important pages; the ones that can generate income and collect
visitor's email addresses. I'm not saying you should forget about the
other webpages on your site, because that would be a very bad idea. I
just want you to focus on improving the PAGE RANK of those "important"
pages. So, your job is to make sure that
the search engines know that you want THOSE pages prioritized over the
others. Obviously you can't just tell them, so you'll have to do it as
best you can through your linking structure.
There are numerous page rank calculators out there that can help you
fix your linking structure and increase your search engine ranking. Go
to Google and put in "page rank calculator",. There should be numerous
tools that come up. Pick any one of them and start analyzing!
