of Traffic Tips
|Tip 69: Create a MySpace Account!
My guess is that you already have a MySpace account and use it to talk
to your friends and relatives on a regular basis. That's great, but did
you know that you can also use MySpace to generate more traffic to your
website? Yeah, it's true. It is called MySpace marketing and it can be
a very powerful technique when you know how to harness it properly.
There are 192 million MySpace users. Think there's some potential
there? You bet there is. The only problem is tapping into that traffic
pool and funneling some of those people to your website. Why is it a
problem? Because it's not an easy thing to do, especially if you don't
have clue about what to do.
Personally, I'm not expert when it comes to MySpace marketing. To be
honest, I don't even have a MySpace account; what can I say, I just
never got into it. Am I missing out on a great networking opportunity?
I'd say so, but that's my prerogative. You, on the other hand, are
going to want to get as much traffic as you possibly can; which means
using MySpace might be right up your alley.
As I said, I am not a MySpace Expert, so I won't tell you strategies or
hints that will help you increase your web site traffic. If I did, I'd
be making it up. Instead, what I will do is point you in the direction
of two excellent resources that should be able to thoroughly teach you
about MySpace Marketing.
Resource One- MySpace Marketing: The Promotional Revolution
My Space Marketing
This book (not an E-Book) will teach you the fundamentals of MySpace
marketing. Everything you need to know to generate web traffic and get
a featured profile in the search engines is explained within this book.
"MySpace Marketing: The Promotional Revolution" goes into great detail
about the tricks that work wonders and the tricks that will get you
banned without notice.
Overall, it's a good read and it should get you on the right track. I
know that If I ever decide to get started with MySpace Marketing, I'll
have an excellent guide to help me on my way.
Resource Two- MySpace For Dummies
MySpace For Dummies
I'm sure you are familiar with the "Dummies" book collection. They have
Dummy books for practically every topic you can think of; so it's no
surprise they have one for MySpace. This book covers the basics of
MySpace and all of the tools that are used to create a very elaborate
profile. If you are familiar with the inner workings of MySpace, then
you probably won't need to read this. But, if you have no idea how to
use MySpace or it's features, then I recommend picking this up as well.
I actually have about 10 different "______ for Dummies" books. They are great references for when you're starting something new.
Tip 70: Get to Know Squidoo!
Squidoo has become unbelievably popular in recent months. Why? Because
it is such an easy and powerful way to generate traffic. You simply
sign up, create a lens, and then start updating it with new content on
a regular basis. It's really just like a blog when you think about it,
but even more powerful.
Squidoo.com has become an all time favorite of Google, which means
Squidoo content will often outrank other, similar content. Translation:
Your Squidoo lens winds up getting on the first few pages of Google
search results and you get more traffic in return (generally speaking).
All you have to do is update your lens with fresh material and you're
guaranteed to get some quality website traffic.
Does creating a lens cost money? Nope. Like I said, it's basically a blog on steroids.
Personally, I have just started using Squidoo and I couldn't be happier
with the results. Even with a basic lens, it's usually not hard to
generate targeted traffic. However, when your lens begins climbing the
ranks, that's when the real web traffic starts coming in. You'll see an
enormous increase in your traffic after you get a few "rating spikes",
which will send your lens ranking through the roof. This, in turn,
leads to a better search engine ranking and that leads to more free
traffic. Think of a snowball effect.
The key to Squidoo success is great content. Just like your articles,
your blog, and your website, your lens must have great content that
people will read and enjoy. If you just slap some gibberish together
and try to create a lens with it, then you might as well stare at a
wall. Why is that? Because the same thing happens, absolutely nothing.
Quick Tip: Approach your lens from a reader's perspective; what would
they like to read about?
If you're still confused or are having trouble finding where to begin,
I recommend reading Squidoo Queen. It combines the ease of bum
marketing with the power of a Squidoo lens, then it explains how to
manage both effectively and with very little hassle. To sum it up in a
sentence: Squidoo Queen teaches the reader how to increase their web
site traffic and their sales exponentially, even if they aren't
operating their own website.
Check Out Squidoo Queen
This is without a doubt a great resource to have by your side and
you'll learn a lot by reading it. As usual, you don't have to take my
word for it; Just Check out the Website and Take a Look at the
Whether you Get Squidoo Queen or not, the simple fact remains; Squidoo Works and you'd be a fool to pass up on it.
